You see, most remodelers take the ambiguous and expedient way to remodeling a home because it’s easier and more profitable. With ambiguity they can cut corners to pad profits and keep you “in the dark” about what’s going on with your project.

For example, most remodelers will ask you a few simple questions about your remodel. Of course, the most often asked question is “what’s your budget.” They ask this question almost immediately so they can start to formulate a “rough” estimate that, wouldn’t you know it, will match your stated budget almost to the penny. Or worse, it’s exceptionally lower than your budget. Then they put together a vague building plan with overly general line items like “replace cabinets.”

At the end of the day, here is what happens: with a “rough” plan and a “rough” estimate there is just so much left to chance. Due to this lack of planning, preparation, and precision, surprises and unforeseen issues come up, corners are cut to deal with these issues and inevitably, excellence is sacrificed.

Bottom Line: you are going to have to pay for all those “little things” they missed and/ or left out. This is when “compromises” take place and you start giving up on your dream and the result is a lackluster remodel, that you absolutely do not love, and that you paid way too much money for.

MY “PLANNING, PREPERATION, AND PRECISION” WAY OF DOING BUSINESS:

In a home remodel, the devil literally is in the details. Look at a kitchen remodel as an example; what cabinets do you want, counter tops, appliances, fixtures, hardware, lighting, light switches … and the list goes on. Each and every one of those questions and your choices will affect your budget.

The reality is that an “estimate” is a “best guess” and are usually not worth the paper they are printed on. A budget and proposal are “critical” parts of the process. In short, you have to have an expert, like me, sit down with you and go over your each and every line item and the associated costs to make sure the remodel you want is the remodel you get.

This is why I ALWAYS ask a ton of questions and why I ALWAYS plan out every last step of your remodel in advance - down to the last detail. Then we prepare for the remodel and make sure you are informed and updated every step of the way. Once all preparations are made, and only then, do we start the remodel — and the plan is followed to a “T.” The end result is a flawless remodel that you absolutely love.

You see, I would rather be totally upfront and honest about your remodel and respect you, your time, and your wallet than to be shady and ambiguous just to get you to sign a contract.

In fact, I have been known to turn down jobs if I thought a homeowner was making a terrible mistake or if I cannot give them unprecedented attention and service… I would rather have your respect than your money.

I simply REFUSE to take advantage of or “rip-off” homeowners.
